Rendering

Image
To continue to build on the mashup project we where asked to take one of our concepts and render it. I chose to use my concept of a village inside of  a street lamp, I developed the concept to glass figurines of a city in the lamp to make the idea that the village creates the light. I started with this, and I really liked that the light came from the center of the village however rhino did not like it as much, and all of the renders from this light perspective became blurry due to the refracting light of the glass houses.  I then moved the light to outside the lamp where it was not as extreme and the render became much more clear. from a distance the render was blurry again.  after spending 5 hours trying to un blur the blurry render I realized that I still have alooooot to learn in rhino, and I am excited to learn more about it and maybe learn the root cause of the blurry images.

Mixing it up

Image
This project is to mix objects with one another, finding the objects on thingverse, we are to mix objects together and alter their meaning.   this is my first attempt at mixing objects, I mixed a bolt with a star and I made a star-bolt, now I don't know how functional it is but its cute! ;)  objects used: Big Bolt - Lethal Company - actually game model accurate by MichalMazurekProps - Thingiverse Christmas Tree Topper Star by Guillermoqs - Thingiverse   The idea for this object was a village in a lamp, I always thought of little cities that might live inside lamps when I was little and this time the thought was something I could make into an object!  Objects used:  Miniature Streetlamp by MikkelT - Thingiverse   Little Christmas Village by yeg3d - Thingiverse Courtyard Fountain by BrentNewhall - Thingiverse A mining cart filled with a rose, twisting the meaning of a typically very dirty and grungy object and making it beautiful and delicate by adding a rose.  Objects used: Ro

Function in Designed Objects

Image
I watched the documentary on objects, and I found it somewhat interesting, seeing the different views of objects in design. A common thread in the documentary was people saying that the object should first be functional before it is stylistic. Which makes sense, but in today's environment the style of the object seems to come first for the consumer.      objects that were commonly referred back to or seen in the documentary were chairs and tables, these objects is very flexible in what it can be designed as so  I decided to design a set for this project.           I was very set in the idea of making the set fluid as to allow for the design, and also prioritize the objects functionality like discussed in the documentary.       In the end this is the design I came up with, the chair kept most of the original form I had in mind while designing, while the table changed, as I realized the design I originally had in mind would be highly unbalanced. However I would like to try and

First Practice in Tinker Cad

Image
I decided to create a castle for my first practice in tinker cad, I have never tried object design, I found putting this together very fun and it made me quite excited for this class!
